Atlas Roofing Corporation is proud to announce that four of its asphalt shingle manufacturing plants received multiple recognitions for safety in the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association’s (ARMA) 2021 Accident Prevention Contest.
The annual contest honors asphalt roofing manufacturing facilities for workplace safety, specifically low-incident rates among workers.
According to ARMA: “Facilities that entered the 2021 Accident Prevention Contest were judged based on ARMA criteria derived from the standards set by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This information is gathered through quarterly safety data reports from the past calendar year.”
For their continued and improved safety records last year, four Atlas Roofing plants won six awards in two categories:
Perfect Employee Safety Certificate
- Atlas Roofing Corporation – Ardmore, OK
- Atlas Roofing Corporation – Daingerfield, TX
- Atlas Roofing Corporation – Meridian, MS
Certificate of Safety Improvement
- Atlas Roofing Corporation – Daingerfield, TX
- Atlas Roofing Corporation – Hampton, GA
- Atlas Roofing Corporation – Meridian, MS
The Perfect Employee Safety Certificate recognizes plants with a perfect score for the reporting year, while the Certificate of Safety Improvement recognizes plants that demonstrated an improvement of at least 25% over their previous year’s performance.
“Workplace and employee safety is of the utmost importance to Atlas,” says Brad Parten, vice president of operations for the Shingles and Underlayments division. “We’re beyond proud that four of our manufacturing plants were recognized by ARMA. We thank them for doing their due diligence to provide and maintain a safe workspace for themselves and their Atlas family. A big congratulations to our Ardmore, Daingerfield, Meridian, and Hampton plants!”
